Issues

Today's Issues

Well, what'll it be today? You want to hear about what I think are the three biggest issues today? Well then, let me tell you. The first one has to be farming monopolies. Why? They are too big. I am all for big businesses, but the farming monopolies are too big for their own good. Once you get that big, you have too much political influence and you start cutting corners to make more of a profit. The conditions that the animals are raised in and the chemicals sprayed on our plants are way to bad, and that needs to change. The next big issue is election reform. When it comes to the general election, each state has a set number of delegates, and when the state votes, the majority candidate is who that state's delegates should vote for, but there are 13 states where that isn't true. In those states, the delegates can vote for whoever they want. That isn't democracy. The way the election should work is whichever candidate gets the popular vote should win the election. The final issue is educational reform. The way our kids are being taught today is fundamentally wrong. One of my favorite quotes is by Albert Einstein, and he said, "Everybody is a genius, but if you tell a fish to climb a tree, it will live it's whole life believing it is dumb." Our schools are trying to teach us that everybody is the same, and our skill is measured by a standardized test. That's not true though. One person might be STEM oriented while another is more historically oriented. Our education system should be tailored to every child's need.
